Stakeholders of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State have declared their total support for the party’s Chairmanship Candidate, Ogbenini Adedamola Olajide, popularly known as Elegant, ahead of the forthcoming local government election.
The declaration was made during a stakeholders’ meeting attended by all local government executive committee members, ward chairmen, ward women leaders, ward secretaries and ward youth leaders across Ido Local Government.
The stakeholders expressed confidence in Olajide’s capacity, character and commitment to the development of the local government, describing his aspiration as a collective project that deserves the support of all party members.
They also prayed for God’s guidance and success for the candidate, expressing optimism that he would emerge victorious at the polls and provide purposeful leadership for the people of Ido Local Government.
Speaking on behalf of the women of the local government, the APM Woman Leader, Elizabeth Modupe Abiona, commended Olajide for his generosity and concern for the people even before assuming office.
Abiona, while appreciating the candidate for the gift presented to women at the meeting, said the gesture demonstrated his commitment to service and genuine concern for the welfare of the people.
> “On behalf of the Ido Local Government women, I sincerely want to appreciate you for the thoughtful and generous gift you gave to the women today. Your gesture is deeply appreciated, and we do not take your kindness for granted.
> “What touches me most is the fact that you are already taking care of and showing genuine concern for the people of Ido Local Government even before you attain the position of Chairman. This clearly shows that leadership, for you, is about service and genuinely caring for the people.”
She prayed for God’s continued blessings upon Olajide, asking that his resources be replenished and his efforts and sacrifices rewarded.
Abiona further prayed for Olajide’s victory in the forthcoming election and the fulfilment of his ambition to become Chairman of Ido Local Government.
She said: “May the Almighty God continue to bless you, replenish your resources, and reward your good heart. May all your efforts, sacrifices, and acts of kindness never be in vain.
“I pray that God will grant you victory and make your aspiration to become the Chairman of Ido Local Government a reality, in Jesus Christ’s name. Amen.”
The stakeholders thereafter reaffirmed their commitment to mobilising support for the APM candidate across the wards and ensuring a strong performance for the party in the forthcoming election.
