The Apero Mekunu Movement, a socio-political initiative in Oyo State, has continued its public engagement campaign with the successful completion of Day 2 of its radio programme awareness rally, which took place across Egbeda and Lagelu Local Government Areas.
Following an energetic first day, the second phase of the rally focused on deeper community conversations, as residents turned out in large numbers to engage with the movement’s message. From busy roadside spots and market squares to transport hubs, members of the movement interacted directly with citizens, explaining the purpose of the radio programme as a platform for amplifying community voices, promoting civic awareness, and encouraging inclusive public dialogue.
Unlike conventional rallies, the Day 2 engagement placed strong emphasis on listening to the people. Residents openly shared their concerns on pressing issues such as the rising cost of living, unemployment, insecurity, poor road infrastructure, and a general sense of being excluded from decision-making processes. Young people highlighted the need for opportunities and empowerment, parents spoke about daily economic struggles, while elders emphasized dignity, fairness, and responsive governance.
According to the organizers, these interactions further underscored the relevance of the radio programme—not merely as background entertainment, but as a vital bridge between the lived experiences of citizens and broader public discourse.
The Apero Mekunu Movement noted that the insights gathered during the rally will help shape future engagements and discussions on the radio programme, as the movement continues its mission to foster participatory dialogue and community-driven development across Oyo State.
