A civic-driven organisation, Apero Mekunu, has officially launched its new website — AperoMekunuOyo.org — creating a digital hub designed to strengthen public participation, accountability, and grassroots mobilisation across Oyo State.
The organisation, known for championing the rights and welfare of ordinary citizens, described the platform as a significant milestone in its mission to amplify the voices of the Mekunu and promote meaningful civic engagement. According to a statement announcing the launch, the website offers a user-friendly interface that allows residents, youths, and stakeholders to easily access information, connect with the movement, and participate in initiatives aimed at social and political transformation.
A standout component of the new platform is the “Know Your Rep” feature — an interactive tool that enables citizens to identify their elected representatives, understand their roles, and track their performance. The innovation, the organisation said, is central to its belief that empowering people with knowledge is the first step toward achieving true liberty and accountability in governance.
Beyond this, the website will serve as a central repository for updates on community outreach programs, volunteer opportunities, media engagements, and other activities aimed at strengthening civic responsibility.
“With this launch, Apero Mekunu is taking another bold step toward building an informed, united, and liberated Oyo State,” the statement added, reaffirming its commitment to ensuring that the concerns of ordinary citizens remain at the forefront of public discourse.
