……….. Pays Sympathetic Visit To Victims Of Attack Orchestrated By Unknown Gunmen

 

The Lawmaker representing Iwajowa State Constituency, at Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Anthony Ogunsola has been named the Chairman and Vice Chairman, House Standing Committees on Solid Minerals Development and Environment/Water Resources/ Ecology respectively.

Ayetoro Ile-born Lawmaker also made membership of Public Petitions/Justice/Judiciary, Employment/Labour Productivity/Pensions, Health and Transport.

He equally made membership of the House Special Committees on House Services, and Public Petitions/Justice/Judiciary respectively.

The Lawmaker became the chairman, Vice Chairman and member of those standing committees at the plenary session held on Thursday, August 17 and presided over by the speaker, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin.

Hon. Ogunsola hailed the speaker and other principal officers of the House, for their firm belief in him and however promised that he would by God’s grace live up to expectations for efficient delivery.

He also promised to work in line with the house ethical and legal limitations guiding the modus operandi of the standing committees.

The lawmaker pledged to give his best on the new tasks and also sought the cooperation of others in order to attain the purpose they were constituted.

In another vein, the lawmaker paid a sympathetic visit to the victims of a Fulani group who were attacked by unknown gunmen at their settlement at Obe Ilu in Iwajowa LG, where about seven of them were killed in cold blood.

The Parliamentarian condemned the dastardly attack in entirety and however described the gruesome killings by unknown gunmen as a callousness of the highest order.

The ugly development, which he said nobody has knowledge of what actually orchestrated it, but he assured that the alleged perpetrators would be arrested to face the full wrath of the law.

In his words, “I paid a visit to the victims of a Fulani group who were attacked recently at their settlement at Obe Ilu, in Iwajowa LG where about seven of them were killed in cold blood”.

“A meeting had been organized on Friday, August 18 at the Oyo state Police command, Eleyele, Ibadan and presided over by the commissioner of police, Oyo State Command to find a lasting solution to incessnt attacks taking place in that axis”.

“In attendance were traditional rulers from Iwajowa and Ibarapa North Local Governments, as well as the Executive Chairman, Iwajowa LG, Hon. Jelili Oyinloye and his counterpart from Ibarapa North”.

” At a visit
made on Saturday, August 19, we consoled the Fulani family that lost their people to the attack and also visited HRM Oba Joseph Tewogbola and HRM Oba Folaranmi Nicholas, the Onidiko of Idiko- Ago and Idiko-Ile respectively, where the attack took place”.

” I appeal to our people in the entire state constituency to allow peace reign and go about their normal business”.

“The security agents are on top of the situation and the perpetrators of the attack would not go unpunished”.

” We also held a meeting at Iwere-Ile’s residence of the Sariki Hausa Fulani, Alhaji Seriki Monu, where I appealled to them to be calmed and let peace reign”.

“Representatives of the Fulani Myetiallah from state level and Southwest were also at the meeting.

The lawmaker sympathised and also conveyed condolences to the Oyo State House of Assembly leadership and the executive Governor, His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde to the Fulani community in his state constituency.
