Former First Lady of Oyo State, Mrs Florence Ajimobi, has described the 2027 general elections as a period of intense political contest, declaring that her party is fully prepared for what she termed a “head-on political war” against the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
Ajimobi made the remarks while addressing party supporters, where she expressed strong confidence in her political camp’s readiness to challenge the PDP’s hold on power in Oyo State.
According to her, the 2027 elections will not be business as usual, stressing that the opposition is determined to reclaim political control of the state.
“We are going to war in 2027. It’s going to be war head-on war. PDP must go, whatever they want to do, try whatever tricks,” she said.
The former First Lady noted that while ultimate authority belongs to God, political actors must also be prepared to actively engage in the democratic process to achieve victory.
“All power belongs to God, but we are going to beg God and we are going to fight them,” she added.
Ajimobi further asserted that her political bloc enjoys strong backing at the national level, which she said would balance any advantage the PDP currently holds in Oyo State.
“Whatever they have at the state, we have at the federal level. They have money, we have money. They have support, we have all the support we need,” she stated.
Reassuring her supporters, the former First Lady insisted that intimidation would not deter her party, declaring its readiness to confront any political challenge ahead of the 2027 polls.
“We are not going to be intimidated. So let them get ready for us, because we are ready for them,” she said.
Her comments have since sparked reactions across the political space in Oyo State, with analysts interpreting the remarks as an early signal of heightened political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections
