The Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government, Hon. Adeojo, has dismissed as baseless the rumoured plot to impeach Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, describing it as a “laughing stock” and a failed political narrative.
Reacting to the ongoing speculation surrounding an alleged impeachment move against the governor, Adeojo said the claim, reportedly linked to opposition elements, was nothing more than a “comedy script authored by a naive political comedian.”
He maintained that the rumour reflects the dissatisfaction of certain individuals and opposition groups with the governor’s performance since assuming office in 2019.
“There is no doubt that some people are uncomfortable with the good governance and sterling achievements of Governor Makinde, but taking it to the extent of imagining an impeachment is a clear display of political desperation,” Adeojo said.
The council chairman further asserted that Makinde’s leadership remains firmly rooted in the support of the people, stressing that no political maneuver could truncate his administration before the end of its tenure.
According to him, the governor’s track record has earned him widespread loyalty, which cannot be swayed by external influence or inducement.
“No amount of money can buy the conscience of our people or compromise their loyalty to the governor and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),” he added.
Adeojo reaffirmed his confidence in Makinde’s administration, noting that the governor continues to enjoy the backing of stakeholders and residents across the state.
