The Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government, Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, has been honoured with an Award of Excellence in recognition of his sustained support for student sports development and quality education.
The award was presented by Adelolu Kayode on behalf of the Principal of St. John Secondary School, Omi-Onigbagbo, Folashade Olajumoke Felix, during a ceremony held at the Chairman’s office.
Speaking at the presentation, Mrs. Felix commended Adeojo for his proactive contributions to students’ sporting activities and his responsiveness to the educational needs of schools within the local government. She noted that his commitment has significantly enhanced both academic and extracurricular opportunities for students.
“We deeply appreciate the Chairman’s dedication to nurturing our students’ talents and well-being,” she said.
In his response, Adeojo dedicated the award to all pupils and students in Ido Local Government and across Oyo State, encouraging them as they resume for the final term of the 2025/2026 academic session.
“May God grant you all knowledge and understanding to excel in life. Happy resumption,” he said.
The council boss reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the educational and personal development of young people, describing them as the future leaders of the society.
The event was attended by top local government officials, including the Local Government Secretary, Kamorudeen Gbadamosi; the Head of Local Government Administration, Sarafadeen Aminu; as well as Bamigbade Samson, a teacher at St. John Secondary School, and other stakeholders.
