Adelabu Promises Akesan Market Victims Soft Loans

After a sympathy visit to Oyo town to commiserate with the victims of burnt Akesan Market.

Chief Adebayo Adelabu has promised all the victims of the inferno a soft loan to start up their businesses immediately the market is rebuilt.

Chief Adelabu earlier had promised to be part of major contributions for the reconstruction of the razed Akesan market, added that Adebayo Adelabu Foundation, BAF and the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, would provide soft loans for victims as soon as the new market is built.

The Penkelemesi dynasty sustainance who was the All Progressives Congress APC governorship candidate in last political dispensation said, the victims recorded immense loss, but best way console them is to help them to start the the business again.

The immediate past deputy governor of the CBN, in a chat with journalists said the affected traders would benefit from his BAF’s traders’ support scheme. This is just as he promised to contact the apex bank on behalf of the traders for small and medium enterprises, SME, loan to cushion the effect of the inferno.

“Thereafter, I promised to contribute within my capacity to the reconstruction of the Akesan Market to express my love and solidarity towards the victims of the inferno.

“My foundation will even provide relief materials soon and this is aside from the financial support I promised,” he added.

He, however, urged government to support and make fire service efficient to prevent further occurrence.
