The governorship candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) in Oyo State, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, alongside his running mate, Engr. Muftau Open-Salawu, on Tuesday continued their statewide Thank You Tour with a rousing reception in Igboho, where they met party leaders, stakeholders and members from Irepo, Oorelope and Olorunsogo Local Government Areas.
The visit, which drew a large turnout of party faithful, provided an opportunity for the APM standard-bearer to appreciate members for their unwavering support during the party’s gubernatorial nomination process while reaffirming his commitment to inclusive leadership and grassroots-driven governance.

Addressing the gathering, Adekanmbi described his emergence as the party’s governorship candidate as a collective mandate belonging to every committed member of the APM. He expressed profound gratitude for the confidence reposed in him and pledged not to betray the trust placed in his leadership.
He stressed that the strength of the party lies in its unity, discipline and shared vision for a better Oyo State, urging members to remain focused, avoid actions capable of causing disunity and continue working together ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The APM candidate assured party faithful that his administration, if elected, would be guided by the principles of fairness, equity and inclusiveness, noting that every member of the party, irrespective of status or background, would have a sense of belonging.
Adekanmbi also reiterated his commitment to participatory leadership, emphasizing that critical decisions affecting both the party and government would be based on wide consultations with stakeholders rather than unilateral imposition.

He further promised to sustain grassroots engagement, strengthen local governance structures and implement people-centred policies aimed at accelerating development across communities in Oyo State.
His running mate, Engr. Muftau Open-Salawu, also commended party members for their loyalty and resilience, urging them to remain united and intensify grassroots mobilisation in preparation for the 2027 governorship election.
The event ended on a high note as party leaders and stakeholders from Irepo, Oorelope and Olorunsogo Local Government Areas reaffirmed their confidence in the Adekanmbi/Open-Salawu ticket and pledged to work collectively towards securing victory for the APM in the 2027 general elections.
