The Hon George Oluokun Akintola All Progressive Congress( APC) candidate has emerged the winner of Lagelu/Akinyele in the House of Representatives.
Hon George Oluokun Akintola scored 19,280 votes to defeat the candidate of the PDP, Hon. Kunle Yusuf, who scored 15,770 votes
The Returning Officer, said, “The candidate of the APC, Hon George Oluokun, having scored the highest valid votes, is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected”
In the keenly contests election, former chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon. Yemi Aderibigbe of African Democratic Congress ( ADC ) came close third with 12,713, while former Oyo State House of Assembly member, Hon. Abiodun Murphy scored 7,629 voted to he in distant fourth.
An elated Hon George Oluokun Akintola, who expressed appreciation to the people of the constituency for their support, promised not to betray the confidence reposed in him.
