Olorunsogo LG Chairman, Olayanju Marks One Year in Office, Empowers 500 Residents, Commissions Key Projects
The executive chairman, Olorunsogo local government area of Oyo state, Hon Qozeem Olayanju has commissioned projects and empowered residents of the council in commemoration of his first year in office.
Some of the projects included a newly constructed borehole, located along Olosun Road, behind Chief Adetoro’s house and fllag off a volleyball court which has been named to immortalise late Vice Chairmanship candidate of the council, Hon. Adetoro EBENEZER Adegbite who died shortly before the local government election in the state.
During the three-day activities to mark his first anniversary, Hon. Olayanju also empowered 300 farmers with farm inputs and 200 women who went away with 20,000 naira each as cash gift, totalling N4m (Four million naira).
The celebration also saw the naming of two streets after Adegbite, and a late leader of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in the area, Sunday Alabi Atolagbe
While giving account of his stewardship during a townhall meeting, the council chairman, a former member of the Oyo state house of assembly highlighted his achievements to include, sound educational drive, employment opportunities, agriculture development and health among others.
He said “At this juncture permit me to highlight some of our achievements in the last 1year
“I. Sponsorship of 6 students in Abiola ajimobi technical university, 5 students in Oyo state college of nursing and midwifery eleyele , obtainment of GCE(NECO) form for 15 secondary school students, distribution of excercise books for students
“II. In area of job employment, the number of beneficiaries are as follows.25 in subeb, 37 in tescom, 21 in Amotekun rangers, 79 in primary health care,and 43 ad-hoc staffs has also been absorbed into local government services
“III. This administration has also empowered 200 farmers, 120 widows , 15 youths has also been sponsored for Agric training in nassarawa state
“IV. In area of infrastructure, this administration has graded 200km feeder road , dredging of Santari river and reconstruction of bridges , sinking of 2 boreholes , renovation of television view center, renovation of DSS office and construction of 2 Amotekun ranger post at Tesi and budo Ayinla
“V. To promote sporting activities, we have constituted local football council and organized annual orelope football competition and the recently flag off of the volleyball court in UMCA secondary grammar school
“VI. This administration has recovered and refurbished all our earth moving vehicles including tractors which is now available for farmers use at subsidized rate
“Last but not the least , this administration has reconnected electricity supply to the local government secretariat with prepaid meter to avoid wastage, we have also procured 5 desktop computers with printers,1 laptop, and 1 photocopier for official use to ensure confidentiality of official documents. unpresidentedly I have constituted all former executive and caretaker chairman of this local government as advisory council regardless of their political affiliation to tap from their wealth of experience in desicion making I believe in all inclusive governance as a tree can never make a forest .

Hon Olayanju also appreciated the executive governor of Oyo state Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde for his support and efforts towards taking OYO state to a greater height.
He however acknowledged the support of all political stakeholders within the council, the onigbeti of igbeti land, Oba Engr. Bashir Olalekan Abioye , Siyanbola IV, and all the traditional rulers.
