The two band members of Taye Currency’s group that eloped in Toronto, Canada while on tour last year November have revealed why they dumped the fuji artiste to seek greener paster.
Kanu Elegbe and Alula ran away to Canada while they were working for Taye Currency, who is considered one of the richest Fuji artists in Nigeria. Currency took his whole band members with him on the trip, but two used the opportunity to run away.
While stating reasons for their action,
Elegbe and Alula accused their boss of being t interested in helping people working under him.
The absconded band members revealed that, none of them paid any money to Taye Currency before taken to on the trip to Canada but they decided to leave the group when they got to Canada due to poor remunerations from Ibadan-born Fiji artiste .
” He did not collect money from us for the trip, but, we were just wise up to make the next move of our lives,
Alaaye always says that one should educate the unwise, but now we the unwise have educated yourselves. He didn’t always take care of us, that is why we ran away.
” He always gives us as little as N 3k per so, and at times gives us one thousand five hundred naira as additional anytime we performed twice in a day. As we played in Canada, he delayed our payment with the hope that when we get to Nigeria he will pay in naira,” Kalu and Alula said Taye currency pays in naira for remuneration he is supposed to pay in foreign currency.
