We Will Change Landscape In The Way Our Youths See Agriculture – OYSG

The Oyo State Government, through the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Olubamiwo Adeosun has said that the present administration would change the landscape in Agriculture in order to encourage youths to see it as a business.

 

She stated this while receiving the General Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, Madagascar, Mrs Fanjaniaina Miharisoa at the SSG’s conference room, Governor’s Office, Secretariat , Ibadan.

 

The Secretary to the State Government said the present administration in the State is moving from sustainance Agriculture to Agri-business.

 

She said. “A lot of young graduates are not interested in Agriculture, we therefore introduced Agri-business to bring our youths back into Agriculture”

 

She said the State Government under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde would change the landscape of Agriculture to encourage youths that are looking for white collar job.

 

“We don’t have oil in Oyo State, but we can tap our natural resources to improve our economy which is what we are doing now in Agriculture.”

 

She added that a programme is on-going at Fashola Industrial hub, Oyo and Awe tagged ‘Start Them Early Programme’ which is part of the programme for youths in the State.

 

In her remark, the General Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, Madagascar, Mrs Fanjaniaina Mharisoa said the country is ready to collaborate with the Oyo State Government on Agriculture, adding that, there are a lot of opportunities in collaboration.
