The People’s Democratic Party, PDP chairmanship candidate for Legelu local government area of Oyo state,
Mudashiru Kamorudeen says improved livelihood for the people of Lagelu will remain a top priority of his administration if elected as the council chairman come April 27th.

The PDP Lagelu local government chairmanship candidate made the explanation while featured on a radio program, anchored by popular presenter, Mayor Isaac Brown, in Ibadan on Sunday evening.

He featured alongside the main opposition candidate, Olawale Bello of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

According to Kamorudeen, he said, is long engagement in politics and previous involvement in local government administration had prepared him for the task ahead of when he will be elected as the executive chairman of Lagelu local government.

Speaking on his plans for Agriculture, Kamorudeen said, his administration will tap from the recent massive investment of the state government in Agriculture. ”

” Our government will support the local farmers, we are also looking into how Lagelu local government can tap from the state government’s huge investment in agriculture. Our potential in agriculture is boosted by this expanse of arable lands suited for all kinds of farming and agricultural businesses, these potentials for agriculture are also supported by a Lagelu-owned huge garri manufacturing factory that will go fully operational during our administration.

Ok his plans for women and aged persons in Lagelu local government if elected, the chairmanship candidate said he has considered a social policy that will be directed towards improving maternal care service in the local government area, stated that the initiative will be partly supported by non-governmental and non-profit organizations.

“With enough primary care centers made available to our local government by His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, we look forward to improving maternal care service through our safe child’s birth and delivery program which includes community engagement with health practitioners, the local health system’s strengthening, and the local facilities’ user fee removal for the poor and most vulnerable expectant mothers in Lagelu local government area”.

Kamorudeen while on the program added that, if elected, his administration will be much more committed to the full mobilization of youth for local and global opportunities.

” Our administration will be committed to the full mobilization of youth in Lagelu local government for local and global opportunities in academics, skills-set training, sports, health, agriculture, and community service.

” Our local government as we know it boasts of enough of a youth population. These young men and women represent unlimited potential for economic and human development and leadership.

This youth population with all the potential that it represents, if not properly engaged and given the needed attention and opportunities to thrive, can lead to a whole lot of social pressures and challenges that may be attendant upon the rise in youth discontent with the government.

Well considered is our resolve to create pathways for the new generation of leaders to gain greater access to policymaking, and develop the leadership potentials in them.
