We Don’t Take Discipline For Granted, Eruwa Poly Rector Charges Fresh Students At Orientation Programme
The Acting Rector of Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic Eruwa, Dr. Gbade Akinteye has charged the newly admitted students of the institution to be law-abiding and passionate about the growth of the institution. He made the statement at the orientation program held at the institution premises yesterday for fresh students.
The orientation programme had in attendance the management of the institution, ably led by the Ag. Rector Dr. Gbade Akinteye, Deans of Faculties, Heads of Departments, Heads of Units, Students Union Executives, and over three thousand students.
Speaking at the event, the Ag. Rector declared the orientation open and congratulated new students for thier admission. He equally charged the students to be disciplined and result-oriented because the institution doesn’t take discipline for granted.
“I specifically acknowledge the presence of members of school management here, Deans of Faculties, Heads of Departments, and Students Union Executive members because you are all full managers of the institution. I formally welcome fresh students to this citadel of learning, Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic Eruwa. I know you have tried your best, day and night, to ensure you got this admission. This is probably not your first or second time of trying our institution but I thank God you made it this time around. I congratulate you for achieving this feat.”
“Remember you are yet to be matriculated. So it’s important to abide by the law and guiding principles of this institution. I thank God for your life for securing admission to this institution. It has become so important to do so, because out of the over seven thousand applicants, you are one of the very few that made the list.”
“In the last three years, our academic calendar has been stable. You can predict your graduation time, preferably you don’t delay yourself. Your seniors that graduated in January are already being mobilized for one-year mandatory national service. It tells you that, if you don’t waste your time, you are in the best place to make your career. The team of staff of this institution is passionate, hardworking, resilient, and dedicated to produce the best set of graduates that anyone can be proud of. We take pride in not only inculcating academic knowledge in our students; we equally prepare them for the future world where their honesty and integrity matters. We want anyone you work with to be proud of you, that’s what set our institution apart from others. The program of this institution is structured in such a way that at the end of the day, you will not only know what you are trying to learn, but you will equally have the morality to back it up because it’s your morality that will take you to places.”
The academic affairs officer, Mr. A.M. Olanrewaju also sensitized the students on the significance of early registration and class attendance. He admonished students to be good ambassadors of the institution and shun frivolous activities.
“Your registration is the official documentation of your data with the institution. The moment you accept admission, it means you have shown a sincere interest in the institution and we agreed that, you have agreed to conduct yourself as responsible citizens of the Polytechnic law and order. When you are here, you must abide by the rules and regulations of this campus, he concludes.
