The Chairman of the Nig,eria Union of Teachers (NUT) in Itesiwaju Local Government Area of Oyo State, Comrade Mrs. Fabiyi Folashade, has raised the alarm over the abduction of the Headmaster of Nomadic Basic School, Ogodu, Igbojaye, Mr. M.K. Owoade.
According to the NUT chairman, the school headmaster was kidnapped on Sunday, throwing the education community and residents of the area into anxiety.
The incident comes just days after the successful rescue of teachers and pupils who were abducted in Oriire Local Government Area, raising fresh concerns over the security of teachers and schools in Oyo State.
Mrs. Fabiyi called on security agencies to intensify efforts to secure the immediate and safe release of the abducted headmaster while urging the relevant authorities to strengthen security measures across schools, particularly in rural communities vulnerable to criminal attacks.
As of the time of filing this report, details surrounding the abduction, including the circumstances of the incident and the identity of the kidnappers, remained sketchy. Security agencies had yet to issue an official statement on the development.
