Residents of Lalupon, Ejioku, Olodo Garage, and Olodo Bank on Ibadan/Iwo road are currently having a tough time accessing their homes after the bridge connecting the communities
collapsed during yesterday’s heavy downpour.

Our correspondent, Akindele Alabi who visited the area on Monday morning, could not pass through the bride that connected Olodo Garage, Olodo Bank, and other towns and communities.

Motorcyclists, car owners, and other pedestrians were left stranded on either side of the link road, while Vehicles and houses were submerged in the deluge, compelling certain residents to evacuate their homes.

Westerndailynews gathered that the downpour which started Sunday afternoon till late night left many areas flooded in Ibadan, as many described the rainfall as one of a kind.

As of the time of filling this report, some residents and individuals who ventured out earlier yesterday remain stranded and unable to access their houses due to the ongoing flooding situation.

One of the stranded victims, identified as Mr. Fashina, explained that he slept at the roadside, saying he could not risk his life.

“It’s better to stay back and monitor my wife and children at home through phone than for me to enter the water, I was inside a commercial car when we noticed the water had overflowed the bride, and some vehicle was trying to maneuver to the other side, but, I told the driver to drop me, it was at the point everyone noticed the bridge has even washed away.
