A yet-to-be-identified man reportedly fell from an upper floor of the iconic 26-storey Cocoa House building in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Monday morning. The incident caused widespread panic among the business community in the area.
Eyewitnesses described the scene as shocking and surreal. One said he initially mistook the falling figure for a large bird, while another recounted that the victim struck a roof near the security post before hitting the ground.
As of now, the circumstances surrounding the fall remain unclear, and investigations are ongoing.
In a statement released Tuesday, Odu’a Investment Company Limited, which manages Cocoa House, confirmed the incident. The company’s Head of Branding and Communication, Victor Ayetoro, stated that the man was quickly attended to by emergency responders and taken to the University College Hospital, Ibadan, for urgent medical care. The company also assured the public of its full cooperation with the authorities.
