Oyo Political Office Holder’s Remuneration Package Bill Passes Second Reading in Oyo Assembly
A bill for a Law to further amend the Remuneration Package of political office holders in Oyo State has passed the first and second readings at the Oyo State House of Assembly.

The amendment bill, which was presented to the House by the majority leader, a member representing Ogbomoso South state Constituency, Mr Sanjo Adedoyin, seeks to further amend the 2001 law.
While citing inflation, economic realities, and the need to attract and retain competent leadership as key reasons for the proposed adjustments, the bill, if passed into law, would revise the existing salary structure of elected and appointed officials.
Speaking on the bill, the Speaker of the House, Mr. Adebo Ogundoyin, highlighted the growing financial demands on public officials, arguing that the current remuneration does not adequately reflect the current economic realities and cost of living
