Oyo Deputy Speaks Against Own Govt. Says He Didn’t Request For Police Squadron For Igboho
The Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Rauf Olaniyan has countered the Governor Makinde’s Decision to shift the Police Squadron to Ago-Are, Oke-Ogun zone area of Oyo State.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Mr. Babatunde Oduyoye while speaking on a popular radio program ‘Political Circuit’ at Fresh FM said that some people big wigs in Oke-Ogun requested that the Police Squadron be a situation in the zone.
Few minutes after the statement for the Special Adviser, Mayor Isaac Brown who anchored the program said that the Deputy Governor sent in a message that he was not part of those who agreed to site the Police Squadron in Ago-Are.
Mr. Oduyoye also confirmed that Governor Makinde was in Abuja around August to make a request for the Mobile Squadron to strengthen the security of the state as against the general view that it was diverted from Oyo town to Ago-Are.
Even though the Governor and his deputy had on the different occasions expressed that the relationship that exists between the duo is intact, this display by the Deputy Governor is enough to conclude that the relationship between them is questionable.
