Oremeji Agugu Mayhem, Oyo Police Arrests Suspects

Some hoodlums allegedly involved in the crisis that occured at Oremeji area of Ibadan, have been arrested.

 

The Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr Adewale Osifeso stated this in a release made available to pressmen

 

The statement also indicates that efforts are ongoing to break the criminal network for the apprehension of other criminal elements within and outside the jurisdiction.

 

It says preliminary investigation reveals that the violence was as result of claims for supremacy among the hoodlums and in the process some persons lost their lives with others injured while motorcycles and vehicles were vandalized.

 

The release adds that the area remains under close monitoring and surveillance with high visibility policing and intensive patrols.

 

Oremeji area of Ibadan was last Friday turned to a battle ground following a clash between some hoodlums over ownership and control of the motor park located within the locality.
