In an ideal democratic setting, loyalty to party ideals, commitment to the welfare of constituents, and grassroots popularity should remain major considerations in the selection of candidates for elections.
However, when the wishes and preferences of party members and constituents are ignored, it creates the impression that popular acceptance has been sacrificed for the interests of a selected few. Such actions can weaken the morale, enthusiasm, and confidence of loyal party members.
More damaging and dangerous is a situation where aspirants are perceived to maintain dual political loyalties by associating with and encouraging participation in other political parties as an alternative platform, while still seeking to emerge as candidates under the APC.
Rewarding such conduct may be interpreted as a disregard for party discipline, loyalty, commitment to the progressive ideals of the APC, and what Mr President stood for as a progressive leader for decades.
Tensions are very high in Oluyole now and it was gathered that the people of Oluyole Federal constituency are currently planning to sabotage the APC if the right thing is not done.

If such situations persist, the party risks discouraging loyal members who have remained steadfast within the party structure over the years. This may also have a negative effect on the unity, strength, and overall performance of the party during the forthcoming general election.
Source said it is therefore important for leaders within the progressive family to as a matter of urgency retrace their steps and place greater emphasis on party loyalty, dedication, acceptability among party members, and grassroots support when selecting candidates to fly the flag of the APC in the general election to avert avoidable disaster and political unrest, and not select one person with dual party membership.
This will further strengthen party cohesion, restore confidence among members, and enhance the zeal and enthusiasm required for electoral success at the polls
