Olubadan‘s Demise: Oyo Lawmaker, Mogaji Akinajo Condoles With Oyo Govt, Olubadan In Council, Ibadan Mogajis, Balees, Indigenes

Oyo Assembly lawmaker, Mogaji Olamide Akinajo has joined Governor Seyi Makinde, OYO state government, Olubadan in Council, IBADAN Mogajis, Baales, Indigenes and people of Oyo state in mourning the demise of Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso 1, who died early Sunday morning.

Mogaji Akinajo who is the current lawmaker, representing IBADAN Northeast constituency 1 expressed deep sadness over the death of the IBADAN monarch, described the late Olubadan as a quintessential royal father who lived his life for the growth of IBADAN as well as Oyo state in general.

The Oyo Assembly lawmaker who got installed as the head of the family of Akinajo, of Akinajo compound, Oje Ibadan by late Oba Sliu said he received the news of the passing of the royal father with shock and grief as the deceased was a peacemaker and a rallying point for not only the Ibadan Sons and Daughters but the entire State.

Mogaji Akinajo said “Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso 1 did a lot to promote peaceful coexistence and development in his domain since assuming office as Olubadan in 2016.

“As a traditional ruler, his community and people enjoyed peace, he used his wealth of experience to managed every emanated crisis in nooks and crannies of Ibadan and there were visible socio-economic and infrastructural developments during his reign,” Mogaji Akinajo said.

He said the late IBADAN King was an iconic traditional ruler who lived for his people, adding that he strived to see to the socio-economic development of IBADAN land and its environs.
