In his continued efforts to bring unprecedented development to his council, the executive chairman, Olorunsogo local government area of Oyo state, Hon. Qozeem Olayanju has flagged off the grading of 100 kilometers road within the council area.
The selected roads are Igbeti Booni road, Apata Alaje road and other communities where the grading is urgently needed.
During a short ceremony held at Igbeti, the capital of Olorunsogo local government, Hon. Olayanju said the project which began with 38km Igbeti Booni road will be done in three phases.
Hon. Olayanju who said the 22km Apata Alaje road and other remaining 40km inner roads that will be shared among communities in urgent need, will be taken care of in the next two phases, explained that some of the roads have been abandoned for over twelve years.
Hon. Olayanju however used opportunity of the occasion to appreciate the executive governor of Oyo state, engineer Seyi Abiodun Makinde for approving 60km road grading and laterite for all the 33 local governments across the state.
The young forward thinking council chairman described governor Makinde as the engineer of modern Oyo state who is committed to providing quality road networks across local governments in the state.
Hon. Olayanju also appreciated the effort and support of the Onigbeti of Igbeti land, Oba Olalekan Bashir Abioye and the igbeti community under the umbrella of ICPC Igbeti Community Projects Community, for prioritizing synergy among key players to ensure development in Olorunsogo
He promised to continue to think out of the box to ensure dividend of democracy reaches the nooks and crannies of Olorunsogo local government.
Earlier shortly before the flag off, the chairman, Park Management System, PMS, Igbeti, Mr Toheeb Tunde said Hon Olayanju’s continuous developmental initiatives especially on the flag off of the selected roads has put an end to an age long misunderstanding between PMS members and previous council leaderships
While acknowledging Hon Olayanju’s efforts at making the road grading a reality, the PMS boss declared loyalty to the administration of the council chairman, describing him as a promise keeper.
This latest initiative under the administration of Hon Qozeem Olayanju marks another forward thinking approach of the former Oyo assembly lawmaker to place Olorunsogo local government among the fast developing council area in Oyo state and Nigeria in general.
Recall that recently, Hon Qozeem Olayanju commissioned two newly built amotekun outposts in flashpoint areas, constructed by his administration to curb crime and criminality in the council
