New Amotekun Forest Rangers: Gov. Makinde’s Continuous Effort On Security Commendable – Amb. Olawore
Ibadan-born UNO Ambassador, Mogaji Abdulsabur Abiola Olawore, has commended Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde for inaugurating 480 Amotekun Forest Rangers to ensure residents’ security.
Mogaji Amb. Olawore made the commendation on Monday night after a new sub-unit of Oyo State Amotekun, called Forest Rangers, passed out at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Iseyin, Oyo State.
He appreciated the governor for his commitment and investment in strengthening the state’s security architecture, including vehicle donations, personnel recruitment, and provision of necessary facilities.
The Amotekun Forest Rangers recruits will work in forests within their Local Government Areas alongside other stakeholders, such as hunters and community-based groups, to secure farmers and residents engaging in economic activities and preserve the state’s natural resources.
According to Olawore, Governor Makinde has continuously invested heavily in securing the state by supporting security agencies to carry out their duties efficiently and effectively.
“The governor has not taken crime lightly in the state; he keeps improving security,” Olawore said. “His achievements in security over the past five years includes continuous recruitment of AMOTEKUN Corps and providing support infrastructure for security operatives.”
“Deploying Rangers to secure farmers and commercial activities is highly commendable; this initiative will prevent illegal activities, kidnapping, and banditry while preserving natural resources,” Mogaji Amb. Olawore added.
The Ibadan Mogaji also praised Governor Makinde for planning to establish airstrips for security surveillance next year, noting that this will further secure residents’ lives and properties.
