Mulikat, Gbolarumi, Olopoeyan, Oseni, Aderibigbe Other Oyo PDP Stakeholders Hold Meeting In Abuja
As preparations for the 2023 elections gather momentum, aggrieved stakeholders in Oyo state People’s Democratic Party left the state to Abuja for a crucial meeting in order to fine-tune strategies to get the control of the party in the state.
The factional state chairman of the party, Hon. Micheal Okunlade who spoke with Westerndailynews.com on phone said, the meeting held by the Oyo PDP stakeholders at Straton Hotel Asokoro, Abuja kick started the preparation of Oyo PDP for the upcoming elections, as it is confirmed that all party primaries will start and ended on or before August this year.
Okunlade said, “ 2023 election is here, we need to start the preparation, the earlier the better. As the state chairman of OYO People’s Democratic Party, I chaired the meeting and all party leaders and chieftains that present at the meeting made a meaningful contribution, they all want the progress of our party, part of what we discussed is about the protection and welfarism of all the party members.
“ Almost all stakeholders and party chieftains at the meeting were long time members of PDP, they are the ones that hold the center when things fall apart for PDP before 2019, the stakeholders have vowed never to leave the party for new entrants”. Okunlade stated.
In his WhatsApp reply to Westerndailynews.com, Olopoeyan said he will only give the details of the meeting when he arrive Ibadan next week. Hinted that, the Abuja meeting was held in the interest of Oyo PDP.
He wrote, “ wait till I come back next Wednesday, I will address press when I come, but for now we are in Abuja for meetings and we are to meet some of the deciding factors of our party’. Olopooeyan in a WhatsApp reply.
Some of the Oyo PDP stakeholders at the meeting were: Alhaja Mulikat Akande-Adeola, Ex Oyo Deputy governor, Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi, Alhaji Bisi Olopoeyan, Egnr. Remi Oseni, Ex governor Makinde’s Hon. Yemi Aderibigbe, Ex chairman of IBADAN North Local government, Hon. Ademola Omotoso, Princess Ronke Adedoja
Others include: Engr. Popoola Oluwakayode Joshua ( POJ ) party gubernatorial aspirant, Hon Abioye Mathew, Taofeek alalubarika, Alhaji Basiru Aranse, Hon. Adebayo Durojaiye and others.
