The Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has presented the instrument and staff of office to Oba Ghandi Olaoye as the Soun of Ogbomoso.
The presentation of staff of office was held at Soun Township Stadium.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Makinde said his administration will initiate a functional Oyo State council of traditional rulers for effective traditional participation in the development of the state.
He assured traditional rulers of constitutional roles and responsibilities.
In his response, the 21st Soun of Ogbomoso Oba Ghandi Olaoye Orumogege III expressed appreciation to Gov. Makinde for being instrumental to the fulfillment of his life destiny.
Oba Ghandi promised to uphold the values and tradition of Ogbomosoland with a commitment to justice and equity.
The royal father expressed willingness to serve his people irrespective of religion or political affiliations.
Oba ghandi also used the opportunity to appeal to every sons and daughter of Ogbomosoland both at home and in diaspora to turn attention to Ogbomosoland for development so that the city could be described as one of the greatest city of the world.
