Oyo State Chapter of the New Nigerian People Party, NNPP on Monday unveiled the names of 352 successful councillorship candidates for the forthcoming local government election.
It will be recalled that Westerndailynews last week reported how NNPP, Oyo state chapter rectified all the party candidates for the local government polls at the various senatorial district headquarters.
The state publicity secretary of the party, Mr. Femi Olaitan Hero after the official release of the candidates declared that, NNPP in Oyo state is fully ready for the election.
He said, “Since the Local Government and the Local Council Development Areas are the nearest to the members of the public at the grassroots, our party, NNPP will not be left out in support of every positive step to bring good governance to the people.
The state governor has already promised non-interference, and emphasize that the Elections must be conducted transparently and must be free, fair, and credible, so NNPP is fully in support of the conduct of the election and will participate,” Hero stated.
He, however, enjoined OYSIEC to ensure that the poll was held in conformity with the OYSIEC Electoral Laws and the Electoral Act.
