Oyekunle Flags Off Reconstruction of 1.17km Atenda-Alawada Road

The member representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (DoN), has flagged off the reconstruction of the 1.17-kilometre Atenda-Alawada Road in Ward 4 of the constituency.
The road, which has been in a dilapidated condition for some time, serves as a connecting route to five major roads within the area.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, Oyekunle said the reconstruction had become imperative in view of the long-standing poor condition of the road and the need to improve movement and accessibility for residents.
In a statement made available to newsmen by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Akinwale Bodija, Oyekunle said the intervention was aimed at addressing the challenges posed by the deteriorated road and improving convenience for residents and other road users.
He noted that the strategic location of the road made its reconstruction particularly important, as its completion would provide an alternative route for motorists and help reduce traffic congestion around adjoining roads.

The lawmaker said the road project was part of his constituency interventions aimed at addressing infrastructure and other developmental needs across Ibadan North Federal Constituency.

He listed some of the other interventions undertaken within the constituency to include the provision of powered streetlights, motorised boreholes, food palliatives, youth and women empowerment programmes, educational support and the facilitation of federal institutions, among others.
Oyekunle said the various interventions were being pursued based on identified needs within the constituency, with the aim of improving the welfare and living conditions of residents.
The reconstruction of the Atenda-Alawada Road is expected to improve connectivity between communities in the area and provide an additional route for motorists using the adjoining roads.
The project is also expected to ease movement within Ward 4 and contribute to the reduction of traffic pressure on some major roads in the area upon completion.
