Ibadan N’East Council Chair, Akintayo, Hails Makinde Over Governor Of The Year Award

The Local Government chairman of Ibadan North East, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, has described the LEADERSHIP award given to state governor, Seyi Makinde, as deserved and encourage to do more in governance and leadership.

The award was in recognition of Governor Seyi Makinde’s “exceptional leadership” in Oyo State.

Akintayo, who applauded the management of LEADERSHIP Newspapers for recognising Seyi Makinde as its Governor of the Year 2023, said the governor is one out of many governors who value those they govern.

He said an award from a credible news media like LEADERSHIP newspaper speaks volumes and governor Makinde, as one of the recipients, shows the selection is based on merit.

The council chairman said he is confident that Makinde is capable and will continually put Oyo state among top performing states.

“I must say that his emergence as best governor for 2023 did not come to me as a surprise. Truly, governor Makinde deserves this award considering the effort he has made in transforming Oyo State in the last 5 years of his administration.

“Considering his remarkable achievements, it will be agreed he is an outstanding personality in governance.

“So, I have no doubt that he would continue to do what he is well known for I the interest of the people of the state,” Akintayo stated.
