The Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication to president Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Chief Sunday Dare has met with select Leaders of Oyo APC and some members of the Oyo APC Peace Advocates in his residence at Ibadan.
The meeting which was called to review the performance of the APC in last Saturday’s By-election in Ibadan North Federal Constituency also had on its agenda, discussions on how to reposition Oyo APC for the challenges ahead in 2027.
You will recall that the the APC lost in all the 12 Wards of Ibadan North Federal Constituency to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Addressing Newsmen after the closed doors meeting, Chief Sunday Dare admitted that the results of the By-election is an indicator of the fact that Oyo APC have a lot to do before 2027.
He agreed that the failure of the APC in the By-election is a wake up call but assured that the Party would restrategize and bounce back stronger.
Chief Akin Onigbinde, SAN, a prominent member of Oyo APC Peace Advocates told reporters that Oyo APC would definitely bounce back from the unfortunate defeat.
He emphasized that unity and discipline amongst Party faithfuls must be embraced by all.
Chief Wale Ohu, a Co-Convener of the Oyo APC Peace Advocates also briefed Newsmen after the meeting.
He emphasized that there is the urgent needs for genuine peace and reconciliation within the Party.
He noted that the By-election in Ibadan North Federal Constituency came with lessons and that Party Stakeholders will rededicate themselves to ensure that peace reigns in the Party.
The co-conveners of the Oyo APC Peace Advocates Chief Wale Ohu and Prince Niran Adeyoju( SDM) together with Chief Dr. Akin Onigbinde SAN and Hon. Afeez Bolaji Repete represented the Group at the high level meeting.
The meeting also had in attendance, a former Deputy Governor of Oyo state and other critical Stakeholders of Oyo APC in attendance.
