Popoola said he was shocked when he received the death news of the Ex-Governor.

POJ in a condolence message personally signed described late Governor Akala as a man who raised many young men and women to be who they are today in especially politics, added that, late Akala was a father to many people, not only to people of his hometown, Ogbomoso but spread his generosity across the state and even the country at large.

“It is going to be a tough time for all of us to overcome the loss, but I’m sure that we won’t let this grief stop us from remembering his great achievements and tremendous contributions to our dear pacesetter state. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and good people of Ogbomoso and OYO state government.

“ Chief Alao-Akala was a genuine and sincere man who served our dear state with the best of his ability and resources.

“Death is the most certain of all that can happen to anyone. Yet we can’t help feeling sad when someone close to us is taken. It is unfortunate we lost a rare gem, philanthropist, and good-hearted politician. This is a warning to all of us that life is not going to be lived forever, we must make meaningful and remarkable impacts in our society. Whatever done while alive will be remembered in death. I urge all politicians to live a life that all will be proud of.
