Gov. Makinde Returns Home Soaked As Heavy Rain Disrupts Late Olubadan Final Burial

A heavy downpour on Saturday disrupted the organized final burial ceremony of the late king of Ibadan, Oba Mahood Alli Balogun.

The party which was held at Obafemi Awolowo, Oke-Ado in Ibadan started with merriment before the heavy rain commenced around 2:3pm. at a point when the state governor was about to deliver his speech.

Governor Seyi Makinde who managed to mount the podium was drenched by the falling water from the top of the stage.

The governor who was flanked by Oyo state House of Assembly speaker, Rt. Hon. Debo Ogundoyin both left the podium into the falling and walked straight to their cars with their soaked Agbada and Cap.

The expected fun of the party came to an abrupt end when the rainfall continued to fall with serious winds.

The Nigerian great jùjú musician, Ebenezer Remilekun Aremu Olasupo Obey-Fabiyi and Ibadan Fuji artist, Taye Adebisi Akande Currency and their bands were also left helpless as none were able to entertain the guests during the rain at the party.

Many guests later left the party pained and disappointed as the contracted food vendors were unable to provide food for sitting guests when the rain stopped. The engaged food vendors were seen packing their cooking items into their various waiting lorries, claiming all prepared food has been served before and during the rain.
