Gov. Makinde Moves Mobile Police Squadron Propose To Be Sited In Oyo Town To Oke Okun

After governor Makinde commissioned the additional Police Mobile Force (PMF) Squadron in Ago-Are, Oke-Ogun which commenced operations, Approval documents, signed by Assistant Inspector of Police going viral have revealed that the approved location for the police Squadron is Oyo town not Oke – Ogun.

Governor Makinde who thanked the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu commissioning said the government decided that the new squadron should be based in Oke-Ogun due to its vast size, and the fact that it shares international borders with the Republic of Benin.

In a Police Wire Message signed by AIGPOL MOPOL FHQ Abuja, CB : 4001/DOPS/PMF/FHQ/ABJ/VOL.43/156, adress to MOPOL 1 KADUNA/3 ENUGU/4 IBADAN/ 6 MAIDUGURI and others, ” Oyo Town was stated as the exact zone in Oyo state for the proposed additional Squadron base.

Also, an Internal memo within the force, from Assistant Inspector General of Police, PMF to Inspector General of Police, dated January 13, 2020 subject ; PROPOSAL FOR THE DEPLOYMENT OF PMF UNITS TO NEWLY CREATED SQUADRON also revealed that the commissioned Squadron in Oke Ogun for Oyo state is proposed for Oyo Town.

In a remark after approval, it was stated that a 6 Units to be drawn from 20 PMF Lagos which presently has 24 units to be deployed to Oyo and form the new Squadron.

It was learnt that Police made the decision to establishore PMF Squadrons in some crisis prone areas in the country.
