…….. As Diaspora Group Rallies Behind Minister, Seeks Lasting Peace in Oyo APC
Nigeria’s Minister of Power and All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has taken centre stage on both the international and domestic fronts, striking major energy agreements abroad while also extending a reconciliatory hand to party members at home.
At the recently concluded Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) in Japan, Adelabu joined President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in securing multi-million-dollar power deals with global technology giants Toshiba and Hitachi.
The agreements are expected to expand Nigeria’s electricity grid, establish new substations to improve power supply, and roll out renewable energy initiatives that will directly impact communities across the country.
Reflecting on the milestone, Adelabu said that beyond infrastructure and policy, the real measure of success lies in how citizens benefit. “These achievements mean little if our people do not feel a personal connection with us,” he noted, underscoring the human angle to his reforms.
Back home in Oyo State, Adelabu struck a conciliatory tone as he addressed members of the APC, acknowledging that some party loyalists felt sidelined after the last election cycle, the minister accepted responsibility for not doing enough to foster unity within the party.
He called for stronger grassroots engagement, and collective effort to reposition the APC in the state.
“Leadership is not just about achievements, but about carrying everyone along,” Adelabu emphasized, urging party faithful to set aside grievances and work together for the common good.
With the global energy partnerships set to bolster Nigeria’s power sector and a renewed commitment to reconciliation at the grassroots, Adelabu says he is determined to deliver “both light and leadership.”
Meanwhile, the Adelabu in Diaspora group, under the coordination of Mr. Bushie Ferrari and a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the United Kingdom, Mr. Bayo Animashaun, has reiterated its support for Chief Adebayo Adelabu’s national engagements and his ongoing efforts to unite the APC in Oyo State.
The group, in a message to party members, urged stakeholders in Oyo APC to remain patient with the Minister of Power as he works towards restoring unity and lasting peace within the party.
According to the statement, the APC in Oyo State has a long and positive history, and the people of the state still believe strongly in the party’s ideology and the caliber of leaders it has produced. However, they emphasized that it will require resilience and commitment from all leaders to return the party to its winning ways.
They added that Chief Adebayo Adelabu is fully prepared to work with leaders at all levels to reposition Oyo APC for victory in the 2027 elections.
