A lawmaker candidate of Ibadan Northeast Southeast Federal Constituency, Ibrahim O. Ajiboye “Omo Iya Eleja”, has congratulated Muslims and non-Muslims alike on witnessing another new Islamic year, Hijrah 1444 AH, and urged them to reflect on their deeds and activities during the past year.
July 29,2022 is the lunar month of Muharram, which is the first month of the Islamic calendar.
The candidate lawmaker hopeful, Omo Iya Eleja who conveyed the felicitations in a message signed by him asked Muslims to use the opportunity of the start of a new year to renew their commitment to God and prayed to Allah to end the nation’s economic hardship and insecurity insurgencies.
The NNPP Ibadan Northeast, Southeast federal house of representatives candidate for the 2023 election said as Muslims entered a new year, they must not only celebrate, rather there’s to strive, as part of what Allah commands, to internalize the lessons of the essence of the Hijrah as exemplified by uncommon patience and endurance by the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in the face of hardship.
He implored Muslims to rededicate themselves to the cause of building an egalitarian society and join hands with other Nigerians in moving the nation forward.
He also enjoined Muslims to exhibit good character towards their neighbors, saying it’s the only way their prayers could be answered by God.
