Dont Expose Us To Coronavirus, Let Work From Home, Oyo Workers Tells Makinde
Amidst coronavirus Pandemic, Oyo state Workers has called on governor Seyi Makinde to give “Work From Home Directive” to all civil servants so as to help the spread of coronavirus, urged the state government to emulate Lagos and Ogun on the workers stay at home directives.
The press for stay at Home Directive by some state Workers is related to the daily continuous number of cases in nearby states.
Some workers at the state secretariat, Ibadan who preferred anonymity said, it high time governor Makinde valued the precious lives of the state workers, said states like Lagos, Osun and others reported cases states has instructed their workers to stay at home and work due to fear of coronavirus spreading, they gave their worries about Makinde unconcerned altitude towards the spread of the virus and healthy living of his people.
” even before they recorded their first case, Osun state governor, Gboyega Oyetola had granted workers in the state two weeks leave while both Lagos and Ogun state governments ordered employees on Grade level 1 to 12 to work from home, we already had one case in oyo state, we are very close to Ogun and Lagos that has the highest recorded cases, ” anonymous stated.
As workers at the state secretariat, Ibadan stressed the need for workers to stay at home they maintained that it was necessary based on the fact that there was a confirmed case in the state.
Meanwhile, reliable source closed to Secretary to the State Government ( SSG ) office has hinted Westerndailynews that a memo to be directed to civil servants who are indisposed will be released soon, said the government will ask indisposed workers to stay at home with permission from the head of their ministry.
