Council Chair, Adeojo Receives APC, ZLP, Accord Defectors In Ido LG, Assures Inclusiveness

Executive chairman of Ido local government and People’s Democratic Party chairmanship candidate for the April 27th state local government election, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo on Friday received at least no fewer than 2000 people of Ido residents who formerly defected from opposition parties to PDP.

The defectors, who are from All Progressives Congress (APC), Action Democratic Congress (ADC), and Accord Party (AP) members pledged 100 percent loyalty to PDP as well as gave their support and votes for the party in the forthcoming local government election.

The defectors were received by the council Chairman, Sheriff Adeojo, state’s PDP secretary, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, PDP Ido local government chairman, Alhaji Ayuba Akinsola, and other party notable leaders at council secretary, Ido, Ibadan.

While addressing the defectors, Adeojo reiterated the commitment of the state governor, Seyi Makinde on equality and reward for loyalty and also highlighted PDP’s commitment to inclusive governance. He assured all the defectors of inclusiveness and henceforth be direct beneficiaries of the dividends of democracy.

In their separate remarks, the state’s public secretary, Wasiu Adeleke, and Ido PDP Chairman, Ayand uba Akinsola welcomed the defectors and thereafter emphasized the significance of their decision. They lauded the leadership of Hon. Sheriff Adeojo and commended his efforts in advancing the party’s agenda.

The atmosphere was filled with excitement and optimism as the defectors expressed their gratitude and joy, symbolizing a significant shift in political allegiance within Ido Local Government. With the upcoming elections on the horizon, the PDP appears poised to capitalize on this momentum as they continue to consolidate their support base in the region.

Among the notable defectors were Olorun Ero Opeyemi from APC Terminate Oni Cocoa from ADC, Asimiyu Sulaimon (popularly known as Oju Ere) from APC, Sakiru Abokede Shakur from Accord, Taofeek Odesola from APC, Emiola Sulaimon from APC, Monsur Arisekola from Accord party, and Olaiya Adesina, the women leader. Each defector brought with them a considerable following, signifying a potential shift in political dynamics within the local government.

The rally also witnessed the presence of key political figures, including Malam Muili Yusuf, Leader Yisahu Alada nla, Nurudeen Adeoye, Razak Elewedu, Adelabu Aderemi, Adebayo Romoke (the LGA woman leader), and all councilors representing various wards in Ido Local Government.
