…….. the election not liable to be invalidated – Judge
The court of Appeal sitting in Ibadan on Monday upheld the victory of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmaker representing Ibadan North East Constituency 1, Honourable Olagoke Olamide Akinajo.
Akinajo who is the Chairman House Committee on Works and Transport in Oyo State Assembly was dragged to Appeal after tribunal by Ajibola Adeshina of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
The appeal court dismissed the petition on account of incompetence, stated that that the petitioner could not prove and establish his claims of irregularities in the March 2019 election.
Hon. Akinajo in his message praised the judiciary for again distinguishing itself as “an unbiased, independent and impartial institution, said the tribunal and the Court Of Appeal have lived up to their expectations by dispensing justice without fear or favour.
“The Appeal Court and the entire Judiciary deserves our commendation for further strengthening the democratic and electioneering processes in Nigeria.”
He, therefore, congratulated the people of Ibadan North constituency 1, noting that the Appeal Court judgement was a reaffirmation of their mandate.
