This morning, tension erupted at Mokola Roundabout, Ibadan, when a patrol vehicle belonging to the Western Nigeria Security Network (WNSN), popularly known as Amotekun, went up in flames.
The cause of the fire outbreak remains unknown. The sudden incident drew a large crowd of passersby and caused a traffic gridlock, as vehicles had to halt to prevent the fire from spreading further in the busy Mokola area.
Operatives of the Oyo State Fire Service responded swiftly and successfully put out the fire before it could escalate. Fortunately, no casualties were recorded.
