My submission:
According to the oyo State chieftaincy declaration, the Agunloye ruling House, which the Gbadegesins belongs to shall produce the next Alaafin.
There’s nothing like Gbadegesin ruling House, because oba Gbadegesin is also a member of Agunloye ruling House.
The name “Gbadegesin” belongs to my late uncle. (Oba bello gbadegesin) oba Gbadegesin, my father, prince azeez akano oladigbolu are both biological sons of the late Alaafin siyanbola oladigbolu who reigned between 1911-1944.
To set the record straight without minding the utterances of my nieces from the Gbadegesin branch of Agunloye ruling House .
when I saw the video clip where a Gbadegesin member mentioned that it was gbadegesin family to produce the new alaafin. I was never moved at all because i considered it a slip of tongue.
All the gbadegesins on the list of contenders are grandsons of oba bello Gbadegesin, while my own father and oba gbadegesin are sons of oba Ladigbolu.
(Baami) Prince sanni egberoungbe Gbadegesin, may his soul continue to rest in peace ( father of all gbadegesins contesting) and I should be talking when it comes to hierarchy within the family. Unfortunately, he’s no more, but I’m pretty much alive with full energy that can operate in any ramifications of classification. Why should my nieces be contesting with me ? It’s highly disrespectful.
No matter their age, I am their uncle.
If having respect for some of them is being taken for superiority, we will set the record straight. So that every farmer will know his boundaries.
Let me further state this for another record purposes.
A retired methodist archbishop Lawrence Ayoade ladigbolu is like a grandfather to me. I own him respect till eternity. However. Realistically, we are both grandsons of Alaafin siyanbola oladigbolu. Which means, oba bello gbadegesin, bishop ladigbolu’s father and my father, prince azeez akano oladigbolu are biological sons of oba Ladigbolu.
I hope this information will be useful , aside from the oracle consultation and every other angle the kingmakers/oyo state government will look at before the announcement of the new Alaafin of oyo.
All we are after is an Alaafin that all the Yorubas Will be proud of and an Alaafin that would be able to withstand, challenge the young and vibrant kings that are taking over the leadership roles across the globe
