Agba Egbe, Aleluyah Supporters in Ibadan Zone Dump PDP for APC

A major political realignment has taken place in Oyo State as Hon. Yusuff Sahib Oladayo, popularly known as Agba Egbe, alongside leaders of the Aleluyah group across the 11 local governments in Ibadan, led thousands of supporters from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The defection comes weeks after former Minority Leader of the Senate, Senator Hosea Agboola (a.k.a. Alleluyah), defected to the APC, following a series of consultations that reshaped the internal dynamics of the PDP in the state.
Speaking on the reason behind their decision, Agba Egbe, former chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, said the PDP has derailed from its founding principles, accusing the party leadership of sidelining major stakeholders.
He stated:
“The PDP has become a one-man show in Oyo State. The party has abandoned the core values that made it a true people’s party. We cannot continue to operate under a system that lacks inclusiveness and fairness.”

The mass defection, he explained, was not a hurried move but the result of extensive deliberations among committed stakeholders who concluded that the APC provides a more viable platform for democratic participation.
Other prominent leaders of the Aleluyah group who joined Agba Egbe in defecting to the APC include Hon. Yahya Akinbile, Hon. Taiwo Salau, Princess Adedoja, Hon. Bamidele Lawal, Hon. Ekolo, Alhaja Mariam Motunrayo, Hon. Yinka Oladimeji, Hon. Egbende Akeem, and Hon. Dauda Lawal (Ire).
