The Faculty of Engineering of **Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa (AOPE)** has inducted its graduating students into the **Nigerian Association of Technologists in Engineering (NATE)**, charging them to uphold professionalism, innovation, and integrity in their careers.

The induction and oath-taking ceremony, held on Friday, July 24, 2026 at Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic campus, brought together members of the institution’s management, engineering professionals, and representatives of regulatory bodies to celebrate the transition of the students into the engineering profession.

The event was attended by the institution’s management team led by the Rector, **Prof. J.O. Adedokun**, alongside Deans of Faculties, Heads of Departments and Units, **Engr. Tomide Akinnawo, MNSE**, **Engr. O.S. Tokede, FNATE**, **Mrs. M. Umanaka**, COREN Secretary, **Engr. J.O. Ethakapemi**, Chairman of NATE, Oyo State Chapter, **Engr. P.A. Olayiwola**, and other distinguished guests.

In his welcome address, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, **Engr. T.G. Fawole**, underscored the critical role of engineering in national development and urged the inductees to remain committed to professionalism, innovation, and ethical conduct.

He also commended the leadership of the Rector for supporting the growth of the faculty and highlighted some of its recent achievements, including the development of an engineering students’ website aimed at promoting innovation, research, entrepreneurship, and academic collaboration.

The Rector, **Prof. J.O. Adedokun**, paid tribute to the late **Engr. Ayanniyi Wole Ayanrinde**, observing a minute of silence in his honour before encouraging the graduating students to be worthy ambassadors of the institution wherever they find themselves.

He further reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to strengthening its collaboration with the Nigerian Association of Technologists in Engineering to advance engineering education and professional practice.

Delivering the induction lecture, **Engr. J.O. Titiloye** challenged the newly inducted professionals to embrace innovation and excellence, stressing that engineering remains indispensable to national development, technological advancement, and sustainable infrastructure.

The oath of allegiance was administered by **Engr. Tomide Akinnawo** and **Engr. O.S. Tokede** on behalf of the President of NATE and the Registrar of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by the Registrar of the institution, **Mrs. F.B. Akintunde**, who commended the planning committee for the successful organisation of the event and expressed appreciation to all dignitaries, guests, and participants for their support.

She also congratulated the newly inducted engineering technologists and wished them successful and fulfilling careers as they contribute to the development of the engineering profession and the nation.
