ADC Ogbomoso South Disowns Alleged Candidate, Urges Public to Ignore Factional Claims

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ogbomoso South Constituency has distanced itself from claims by Mr. Booda Sunday Jeremiah Adeyemo (popularly known as BSA) that he has received a nomination form from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the party’s candidate for the Ogbomoso South State Constituency in the forthcoming election.
In a statement issued on Friday by the Public Relations Officer-Elect of the party in Ogbomoso South, Mr. Olatunbosun Ojekunle, the constituency leadership described the claim as false and maintained that Adeyemo is not the duly recognised candidate of the ADC for the constituency.

The party stated that the authentic leadership of the ADC at the national level remains the National Working Committee (NWC) led by Distinguished Senator David Mark and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, stressing that the leadership is the legitimate authority recognised by the party and relevant electoral authorities.
According to the statement, the recognised leadership of the party in Oyo State is under the chairmanship of Hon. Afees Adelowo Jimoh and the duly elected State Executive Committee, adding that all official party activities, including candidate nominations, endorsements and other statutory processes, are conducted through the recognised party structures.
The constituency leadership further asserted that any individual or group laying claim to candidacy under what it described as the “Olona/Gombe camp” is operating outside the officially recognised structures of the party and should not be regarded as representing the authentic African Democratic Congress.
The ADC consequently urged party members, supporters, stakeholders, media organisations and the general public to disregard what it described as misleading claims of candidature from unauthorised factions.

It reaffirmed its commitment to due process, internal democracy, party discipline and strict adherence to the party’s constitution in all matters relating to the nomination of candidates and political representation.
The statement added that the people of Ogbomoso South deserve accurate information and called on the public to rely only on official communications issued by the recognised national and state leadership of the party.
The constituency chapter reiterated that the ADC remains united and focused on providing credible leadership and quality representation for the people of Oyo State.
