Oyo State chapter of Association of Waterwell Drilling Rig Owners and Practitioners (AWDROP) has elected executives, led by Mr. Kolawole Olayinka, ex-acting chair.
The election held at the Officers’ Mess of Oyo State Police Headquarters in Eleyele, Ibadan.
Kolawole polled over 75 per cent of the votes to beat his opponent.
He said: “I thank God for the successful election. I appreciate the electoral officers who came from Kaduna, Osun, Ondo, Ogun and other states to supervise the election. My victory is a sign of progress for the association. It means against all odds, we will attain greater heights.
“To aggrieved members, I urge them to join me to move the association forward.”
Other elected officers are Deji Araromi (Vice Chairman); Kehinde Olaniyi (Secretary); Taiwo Abdulazeez (Assistant Secretary); Seyi Ojo (Public Relations Officer); Akeem Oyero (Chief Whip); Adeoluwa Akinola (Auditor); Felix Olorunsola (Welfare Secretary) and Akinbode Akinniyi (Financial Secretary).
Chairman of the electoral commission Lanre Jaji said: “We have elected new executive members of AWDROP to pilot affairs of the association in Oyo State. The election was free and transparent…”
