Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen, the chairman of Lagelu local government on Friday joined indigenes in his Lagun hometown to observe Eid prayers—with hundreds of Muslim faithfuls, clad in vibrant kaftans and hijabs, converged on the open prayer ground in Lagun. Children darted through the crowd, their laughter mingling with the call to prayer, while elders exchanged warm embraces, their faces etched with the quiet joy of a sacred day.

For Hon. Kamorudeen, this was more than a religious observance—it was a homecoming, a chance to reconnect with the roots that shaped him.

“Eid is a time to reflect on our shared values—compassion, generosity, and togetherness,” Kamorudeen said in a new statement to press…. “As we celebrate today, let us renew our commitment to building a Lagelu that is secure, prosperous, and united.”

Kamorudeen’s leadership has been a cornerstone of Lagelu’s recent transformation. In the past months, his administration has poured resources into infrastructure—roads that now snake through once-isolated villages, boreholes delivering clean water, and electrification projects that have banished darkness from countless homes. The construction of a permanent base for Amotekun, the regional security outfit, in Lagun Village stands as a testament to his focus on safety, a priority he reiterated during the Eid celebration. “No society can flourish without security,” he said, gesturing toward the newly built structure.

But on this Eid morning, politics took a backseat to faith and fellowship. Kamorudeen, dressed in a flowing white, joined the congregational prayers led by the community’s chief imam. The council chairman’s statement to Muslims struck a chord, urging the faithful to embody the spirit of Ramadan beyond the holy month—to give to the less fortunate, to forgive old grudges, and to work for the common good.
