You Cant Be An Authoritarian Leader In NNPP, Go Ahead To Register Your Kwankwasiya Group Instead, Olopoeyan Tells Kwankwaso
The Southwest leader of the New Nigerian People’s Party, NNPP, Alhaji Abdul-Rosheed Adebisi Adeyemi Olopoeyan, has advised the former governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to go ahead to register his social group, Kwankwasiya as a political party with Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Olopoeyan said the Kwankwasiya group leader can’t see himself as the candidate and is still parading himself as an overall leader in the New Nigerian People’s Party, NNPP.
The Ibadan-based politician fumed at the recent activities of the Kano born politician and some members of the National Working Committee of the party said Kwankwaso and his foot soldiers within the NWC are trying to manipulate NNPP members and constitution for the Kwankwasiya group.
Adebisi Olopoeyan, in his reaction to the purported dissolution of the Oyo state party excos by NWC, said that Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso had overstressed his value in the party with his authoritarian attitude.
He said the acclaimed dissolution is not only illegal but also an embarrassment to the party constitution, ” I don’t understand what senator Rabiu Kwankwaso and his boys are trying to do with NNPP, it high time we stopped him from his effort in substituting his Group Kwankwasiya with NNPP.
” He and his NWC keep disorganizing the party with their suspension, expulsion of party leaders, members as well as dissolution of party executives; they are doing these for the sole reason of protecting the Kwankwasiya group.
” The state Exco in Oyo was dissolved a few months ago, even before the expiration of their tenure, another Congress was done, new Excos was inaugurated three months ago, now they dissolved it again, without any tangible reason, but I know it because no one is ready to join Kwankwasiya group and they are not pleased with it. Here is Oyo state, Southwest, not Kano, we can’t be doing politics and still be worshiping a group from Kano state.
” Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso had forgotten that, he is not the owner of the party and has no right to force any leader or member to join his social group. He even forgot that his recently conducted national convention had been challenged in court, so why is the case on? Neither the NWC has the right to make a decision that will affect the party both at national and state levels; instead, they are busy adjusting the constitution to carry out their illegal activities.
