BCOS Crisis Worsens, As Management Fails To Pay Full May Salary

All is again not well in the Oyo state owned media station, Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) as management under the leadership of Peter Ajayi on Friday failed in it’s promise to stop staff cooperative deductions for the month of May, 2023 and pay their salary in full.
Some of the staff received their salary alert on Friday and observed that what was paid was an old salary formula which also included their monthly deductions.
Majority of the staff who spoke to our correspondent expressed disappointment in the present management of the corporation and appealed to the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde to as a matter of urgency see to the transfer of the management team.
BCOS has been in the news in the last few months following the inability of the management under the then former Executive Chairman, Dotun Oyelade to pay many months of cooperative deductions.
There has been reactions and counter reactions between the management and leaders of the two cooperative societies over failed promises by Dotun Oyelade to pay the deductions.
A visit to BCOS Ile Akede, Orita Bashorun premises, some of the workers were seen discussing the development some in a very harsh tone.
According to one of the staff, “this is a very dark period in the life’s of BCOS not because our governor is not taken care of us but we have insensitive management team. Those people never cared about our well being but their pockets, and we know their judgement is very near”
Another member of staff stated that Governor Makinde should pls come to the rescue of the station.
“Pls, help us tell Governor Makinde to rise up for ourdefensee, we want a total change in management and leadership of this Corporation and we want it now.”
