The National Working Committee of NNPP, New Nigeria Peoples Party led by the chairman, Prof. Rufai Ahmed Alkali yesterday paid homage to, the Oyo state and Southwest leader of the party, Alhaji Abdul-Rasheed Adebisi Olopoeyan.
With Ahmed Alkali were National Secretary, Mr. Dipo Olayoku, and South-South Zonal Chairman, Dr. Stanley Ijeh, they arrived in Ibadan on Thursday to meet Olopoeyan at his Basorun residence in Ibadan Oyo state capital.
Earlier in the day, Alhaji Adebisi Olopoeyan was present on the Day 5 of Nigeria Union of Journalists Week, where he was conferred with the Most Notable Politician in Oyo State Award.
Olopoeyan in his statement about the national executive’s visitation to his house in Ibadan said Rufai Ahmed Alkali came to discuss the progress of the party in the Southwest zone.
” It was an honor to receive the NWC of our party in my house, the visitation was unexpected, am pleased to receive the national chairman, Prof. Rufai Ahmed Alkali, the national secretary, Mr. Dipo Olayoku, and my brother, the chairman of the south-south zone for our party, Dr. Stanley Ojeh.
” They came to discuss the progress of our party in Southwest and I appreciate that, it show they are really love the party and want it to excell.
” It has become clear that NNPP is no more a small political party in Southwest, the stakeholders and leaders are working day and night to make the party formidable in the zone by luring people to the party.
He added that the party especially in Oyo state and others in the southwest has been able to mobilize members, and have candidates for governorship elections, and national and state houses of assembly.
