Residents of Inalende, Elelede, and Oniyarin in the Ibadan North local government area have urged the Oyo state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, Dayo Ogungbenro, state PDP led executives to present a certificate of return to the rightful winner of the recently concluded House of Assembly primary in Ibadan North local government constituency 1, Hon Fola Oyekunle
In a letter signed by Alh, Suara Adegoke, and Imam Tiri Olapeju on behalf of the communities, addressed to Oyo state PDP party leaders, Seyi Makinde and the entire state executives of the party, after its Landlord’s meeting implored the governor and Oyo PDP not to portray their party as an undemocratic and lawless party.
“As a result of the decision of the party hierarchy in the local government and state making attempt to give the credit of the winner for the loser in constituency one of the local government”
The community heads said, the love of the party is unquestionable in the heart of the residents but, the occultic attitude and self believed of the party leaders are making the party near its destruction, especially in Ibadan North.
It was stated that all the arrangements that had been made to present the second runner up, Mrs. Comforter Olufunke Olajide as flagbearer of the party ahead of the winner has been known to the public but implored governor Makinde and his PDP state executive not to go on with the aimed manipulation as there will be a great consequence soonest if they eventually did.
On behalf of the residents, the community’s executives said, they shouldn’t have been involved in requesting justice for Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle because their associations are none governmental nor for politics but, as part of the communities that are expecting good dividends of democracy, it is their interest to ask for a credible and trusted representative at the poll
“Our dear governor, even as a nonpolitical association, we have fully aware and know many of the residents that have benefited from Hon. Fola empowerment program.
He, Hon. Fola had helped major communities with security in the constituency even, though his contribution to education can not be over-emphasized.
Your excellency, we are neither praising the lawmaker nor selling it for you, there is evidence for all we have mentioned you can call your party leaders to ask for Hon. Folajimi’s performance in his constituency.
